Regardless of what opportunities youth are exposed to in their everyday lives, through Soaring Eagles, all youth are given the opportunity to learn from mentors, excel through hands-on learning, and complete meaningful projects.
Full programs at Soaring Eagles are held once a week over a four-week period. At each of the four events, teens spend the day exploring various aspects of aviation including flight operations, maintenance, and avionics. Through these experiences, youth are given a better understanding of how to set, keep and achieve meaningful goals.
After completing the full program, youth can participate in a periodic event, such as attending an air show where they receive behind-the-scenes VIP access or tour corporate jets. These single day events assist with continued mentoring efforts and broaden the educational aspects of the full programs.
Finally, selected youth who have shown a commitment and passion for the aviation industry are given the opportunity to take part in a special event, such as personalized flight instruction or intern work programs at the airport.
All of the events pair the youth with mentors, give them a sense of responsibility, and inspire them to apply what they’ve learned to help them succeed in their current educational endeavors.
